Puppy Contract
1. Your new puppy has been bred and reared with the
utmost love and care to every detail.
2. The puppy is believed to be in good health but
you are strongly advised to take it to your veterinary
surgeon for a general health check within four days
of purchase. This check and any tests or examinations
associated with it must be at your expense.
3. If your veterinary surgeon finds any problem which,
in their opinion, renders the puppy unfit for sale,
I will take the puppy back and refund the full purchase
price on condition that the puppy is returned within
five days of purchase with a veterinary report and,
is in the same state of health as when it was sold.
Before purchase, you should consider the puppy as
a living thing which will become a much loved member
of the family in a very short time, and this may effect
what you wish to do if return of the puppy becomes
necessary. After drawing your attention to this possibility,
I cannot be held responsible for any distress caused
to you and your family by return of the puppy.
4. Before purchase, I recommend that you consult your
veterinary surgeon about this breed and any possible
diseases, genetic or otherwise, to which it is prone,
and you accept that I, the breeder, can not be held
responsible if such a disease develops later in life;
after a satisfactory preliminary examination by your
veterinary surgeon.
5. You confirm that you will properly house, feed,
water and exercise the dog and will arrange for appropriate
veterinary attention if required. You will ensure
he/she receives a vaccination and worming programme
as recommended by your vet. You will not allow it
allow it to roam at large or cause it to be a nuisance
to your neighbours and when away from home ensure
the dog wears a tagged collar with contact details
on and shall be kept leashed or under effective control.
6. Should your circumstances change in the future
and you become unable to keep the Labrador, you agree
to refer immediately to me, the breeder. I am committed
to help re-home the dog for whatever reason throughout
her/his lifetime.
7. We would like to point out we place
two endorsements on your puppies Kennel Club registration
certificate. This is to protect the future of this
breed. The endorsement will be lifted on the understanding
that should you decide to mate your dog/bitch it has
had his/her eyes screened and carries an up-to-date
certificate. Also that the elbows and hips have been
x-rayed and scored by the B.V.A. (British Veterinary
Association).
